A little about this blog.

This blog is full of DIY instructions, fun projects that I have accomplished, and inspiration for things yet to come. It features everything from home decor to gardening to jewelry. I am a firm believer in up-cycling and recycling anything I can. I love to reuse old things and give them new life! I also try to save money when I source materials. If I have a good tip on that, I will share the love!

A little about me.

I have been a jewelry designer/maker for many years now. I love it! The only thing I love more than designing jewelry is being a Mother, or a "Mama", as my 3 kids call me. I love being with my family! Some of the best time spent with my kids and family is time spent building and crafting things together. They inspire me to make crazy, cool creations that I would never of thought of on my own. It draws us closer and brings so much beauty to our lives.

I have made over-the-top school projects with my children. I love to make primitive/shabby chic home decor with my mother-in-law. I learned to sew from my Mom. Whenever I can't find the right house hold fix at the store, I go home and build something to fill the need in my basement. I organize in strange and resourceful ways. I save empty boxes, egg cartons, tin cans, plastic fruit bag netting, old jars, and many other odds and ends... just in case I get hit with that MUST CRAFT NOW urge (which happens often)! I love a challenge! Give me a strange request, and I will make it work WITH the resources I have on hand. There is nothing like coming to the end of a project, stepping back, and basking in the goodness that you have just conjured into existence! One word... FABULOUS!

I have realized that crafting in general gives me so much joy! Taking a break from jewelry and doing something off the wall can be so refreshing and fun! It revitalizes my inspiration for making jewelry and always breaks up my "designers block". That is why I decided to open The Chic burlap Boutique and to start blogging about my crafting adventures. It is awesome to share the DIY pointers I have learned along the way! It is wonderful to inspire others to create! Sharing crafts and creating is the best!
